There are some new products in the market to look for. These are from our friends at 3M. They have come out with a New 984F Cubitron II Roloc Durable Edge Discs and a New Disc Sander.
First we start with the Roloc Discs These are a premium grade disc. Made of a YF weight water resistant polyester cloth backing with a laminated cloth for extra strength. The Cubitron abrasive gives it a cooler cutting temperature. Available in TR and TSM Attachment type. Sizes 1 1/2", 2", 3", and 4". Grits 36, 60, and 80. For use in wet or dry. Then they came out with this New 3M Disc Sander to use these new Roloc discs with. The 3M™ Disc Sander 20232, 3 inch 1 hp, gives you all the power you need.

Some of the ways to lower the cost of Manufacturing is with the cubitron roloc disc. They cut faster because the ceramic is a 3 point edge. Its all ways introducing sharp edges.
